Ward Heirwegh

Ward Heirwegh (1982) graduated in 2007 as a master in typography at LUCA School of Arts Gent. He started working as graphic designer at the design studio Base Design in Brussels. Two years later he started his independent practice as a graphic designer and art director, mainly focussing on clients within the cutural field. So far he worked (amongst others) for  Architecture Workroom Brussels, Beursschouwburg & Bâtard Festival, Design Vlaanderen,  S.M.A.K., Bozar, Tim Van Laere Gallery,… Next to his studio Ward also founded an experimental publication platform called Sleeperhold Publications: a research-based, ephemeral platform dedicated to artist publications. So far SHP has worked together with diverse list of artists in creating several outputs. From this curatorial starting point his projects branch out into different exercises in creating: lectures, curating exhibitions, writing,…

Ward currently teaches Image Analysis at MAD-Faculty Hasselt and graphic design at Sint Lucas University Collega of Art and Design Antwerpen.
