This line of research examines the place of the artistic within architectural design and the representation of architecture within visual arts. The aim of this research is to explore how the image as created, composed and medium-specific element affects the built environment, its perception and memory. In this vein, it will consider how different visual media (such as film) can mediate architecture. This approach results in research output that combines classical academic publications with more experimental forms of writing and representation, such as the essay, the autobiography, fiction and visual montage.
